Andrew and others,
There is a grad student who is undertaking some serious studies on the
Haliotidae. His name is David Geiger, and he is located somewhere in
California. He published an article in the journal Nautilus a few years
ago reviewing all the species, their synonyms, extensive notes and
illustrations of some of the less common ones. For those interested in
this family this is an essential publication. I do not have the exact
citation but I would be able to post it in a day or two when I make a trip
to the Museum.
My main regreti is that David was not able to come to Pittsburgh for the
65th. American Malacological Society meeting this past July. He was going
to look over our collection and undertake a redetermination of the names.
His plans had to change at the last minute.

Charlie
