Americans of German descent eat sauerkraut on New Year's Day for good luck;
Southerners eat black-eyed peas. Perhaps these foods were selected to bring
in the New Year with a bang.

Best wishes for all in 2000, and have a Merry Millennium (beginning next
year, of course)!
