Dear Conch-Lers -

With a great deal of difficulty I finally got the Ross 2000 calender
printed out and am delighted with it. I am sure you all join me in giving
Ross a big thank you. This is just one of many nice things he has done for
Conch-L. My only suggestion is that if he should happen to want to do
another one next year, how about making it entirely of members of the
Family Ranellidae. There are some beautiful shells in that
family. However, I am pleased that he did include the Biplex specimen in
the 2000 one.

I am wondering all of you know that the Biplex shells in Australia are
called Kookaburra shells, which means Cock's comb. If you need an
explanation of how that came about, take the page for April, turn it upside
down (180°) and see what the picture looks like.
