Dear Volute Enthusiasts;-
    I am doing some work on Volute authors---and I need some
clarification. I have come across V. porcina Broderip 1830. The Standard
Catalog (Wagner and Abbott) tells me that this name is synonomized and
second to V. souliei Marche-Marchad, 1974. I need to know why Broderip's
description from 1830 is replaced by a description done 140 years later.

    Thanks for any help out there.
