Dear all,

The adductor muscles grow as the shell size increases in bivalves. This may be
too natural to ask, but I wonder how the position of adductor muscles can be
shifted on the inner surface of the shell, as they grow. These muscles appear to
be firmly attached to the shell but they must be relocated progressively to the
outward direction. Is there any information about the way or by what means
these muscles are attached to the shell?
