Good evening everyone!  :)

     A recent post from Ross regarding a specimen of Lambis crocata pilsbryi that was collected in
Zanzibar has really intrigued me.  From what I have read, the nominative form (Lambis crocata
crocata) is quite widespread throughout the Indo-Pacific region, whereas L. c. pilsbryi was
restricted to shallow waters around the Marquesas Islands.  Turning up a specimen of L. c.
pilsbryi in Zanzibar represents a TREMENDOUS range extention.  I have two questions for you:

     1. Does anyone have other specimens of L. c. pilsbryi from other localities along the coast
of         East Africa?

and

     2. Does anyone have, or is anyone aware of, specimens with characteristics half-way between
L.         c. crocata and L. c. pilsbryi?

This is truly baffling to me and I would greatly appreciate any information you can provide to
shed additional light on this most interesting specimen.  Thanks in advance and goodnight!  :)

So, if you brought it up, we might find out if anyone had found specimens that were halfway
between the normal and pilsbry forms, or if anyone had found any specimens from
East Africa before.
