It would be interesting in our field, to find what the vast percentage would
prefer using- the latin or common names. Obviously in dealing with our friends
outside of America it would present a problem, but here in the U.S., it might
be a different story. How many of us started out by learning the Latin names
first? I know probably a third of the Latin for the species I can collect here
in Florida, but when one of you type in something I know very well by the
common name but not the Latin, lets suffice it to say my shell books do not
leave my computer desk! I guess that forces us to learn a little quicker. Just
a thought.      Scott
