Dear Shellers:
For those contemplating coming to COA at Cape Canaveral, Florida, July
7-11, 2001, sponsored by the Astronaut Trail Shell Club, this convention
will be an outstanding event. But you should have the opportunity to see
even more fireworks than the normal convention. . .
The disclaimer: I do not speak for the "firmness" of the NASA schedules,
all schedules for launches are based upon many factors and launch dates
frequently slip. However, for those interested in launch schedules,
note the Kennedy Space Center web site:
http://www-pao.ksc.nasa.gov/kscpao/schedule/mixfleet.htm
On July 12, the day after the convention, there should be a launch,
currently listed for both a weather satellite from Cape Canaveral Air
Force Station and a launch from the Kennedy Space Center of Space
Shuttle Discovery for flight STS 105 to the International Space
Station. Now there cannot be two launches on the same day, one launch
will take priority and the other will slip at least two days. But for
those coming to COA in July, there is a good opportunity to see a launch
of some type on July 12.

Also, I will be donating as a door prize for the convention at least
one, and hopefully more, items that have flown in space in the Space
Shuttle.

Hope to see everyone on this list in Florida this July at COA.
