Well, I guess that it has all played out.  What Lynn Scheu and others
have repeatedly said in the  past about advertising on Conch-L is
also relevant to SPAM.  First we have people chastising the offending
party for their indescrection,  then we have those people who know the
rules, then we have those defending the offender, then we have
the people who are going to quit the list severv, and it goes on and on.
What we ultimately have is a lot of messages to about 500 people which
are in no way related to the stated purpose of the listserv.

Believe it or not, there are  really people on this listserv who are
interested
in "shells."

Through the luck of the draw (and ten foot surf) we will soon be able to
offer
high resolution images of the big three in Epitonium in northeast Florida -
E. angulatum, E. humphreysii, and the old ugly fellow - E. multistriatum.
Why the latter is so "visually imparied" is beyond me but when you see
the images I think that you will agree (ugly eyestalk, etc.).
