Sorry to say, there are no active shell dumps left and the only ones I know
of possibly still around are very far from where you will be. The scallops
developed a disease and quantities fell off, so commercial fishing has just
about stopped.
 
I live halfway between Orlando and Sanibel in the Sarasota area and would
be delighted to see you. I always enjoy meeting and talking with shell
collectors around the world.
