Nancy,

RE:minnow shell. (?Gari)

The Greek word "garinos" means "a kind of small fish for making sauces"

and psammos = sand

Hi folks,

As a favor, I'm trying to find out if any of the Psammobiidae have a common
name of "minnow shell" (possibly genus Gari?). Does this sound familiar
to any of you? I'm not big on bivalves, but none of my books mention the
common name and I could find nothing on a search of the net
either. Tapping your brains, as usual...

Thanks, Nancy
