I kinda would like to find snakes under objects, too. Or salamanders or
toads. Or snails. But not ants.

Am I correct in assuming that you can't find live snails under the same
board or log where there's an ant nest?

Not a scientific survey, but at reststops on I-95 through South Carolina,
I've never found a single snail. Plenty of ants, though.
