There is an easier way than memorizing the ASCII codes for
various symbols or changing your keyboard setup. Windows
comes with a handy little program of letters, symbols, accents,
etc. It is called Character Map and is probably located in the
Windows Accessories file. Just drag the thing out onto the
desktop and whenever you need a special symbol you can get it
and copy it. Character Map gives you diverse foreign alphabets as
well as mathematical and other symbols. In MS Word, or any
other word processor, it is easy enough to set certain key strokes
to represent needed symbols. For instance, I have all the
diacritical marks necessary in Spanish available by just hitting Alt
+ the letter; e.g., alt + a = á.
