The only shells I have damaged using full-strength laundry bleach
(sodium hypochlotite solution) are those with a large organic
component (Isognomon). Most shells will not be damaged by bleach.

Some to avoid bleaching:
Pterioidea
Pinnidae
some Ostreidae
very thinshelled Capulidae (eg Trichamathina)
Rhytididae
