Sorry Henk, but such rumors have not reached my ears. However, since my
interest in freshwater mollusks is only in passing, perhaps no one has
bothered to inform me. St. Martin Parish is next to Lafayette Parish,
my own county. I will ask around and I will let you know IF I find out
anything positive.

Emilio

Dear ConchLers,
On the Aliens-L list, an internetsite
dealing with the problems caused by introduced plants and animals, information
was requested concerning the possible presence of the introduced Apple snail
Pomacea canaliculata in Louisiana. According to rumours specimens
have
been found in St. Martin Parish, Lousiana. Has anybody on the list any
more pertinent
information?
Henk K. Mienis
