My collection includes a Cymatium carribbeum and a Cassis flammea, each
with a very obvious inter-whatchamacallit. The C. carribbeum also has a
new siphonal canal that has also almost, but not completely, replaced
the old canal.

Both have a paper thin varix with no sign of a new lip starting. The
Cassis has the old lip completely intact with the new varix extending
out from it.

Both collected from the Boynton Ledge, SE Florida.
