I plead with those who post messages to Conch-L to consider the wisdom
of using Plain Text format for those messages. When one subscribes to
Conch-L in Digest mode (all messages from 1 day combined into 1 e-mail),
all the formatting code that is included in HTML messages (especially
those using MS Word as a editor ) is displayed in the Digest message,
vastly increasing the size of the e-mail and making it much more tedious
to read. Even if you do not see all the code in your mail reader, it is
included in each individual message, thus affecting any members who are
charged by their ISP's according to usage ("some subscribers pay
directly for receiving and storing messages" - from Conch-L Rules and
Recommendations). You may think all the styling and color make the
message look nice, but the shell-related content is what is important.
