Hi Julia:
 
Welcome aboard.  You will enjoy the conversations on here.  Don't worry
you don't need to know the latin names - however a lot of people use
them on here.
 
But they will help you if you ask.  Do you belong to a shell club?
 
We are on Merritt Island.  We often fly from Ft. Lauderdale to the
Bahamas to collect.  We have collected for 35 years.  Have approx
7-8,000 species.
