Hi Andy,

It's got several spiral lines (the staff) and dots between the lines (the notes).

My girlfriend proposes turning the "music" into motifs that can be the basis for a composition. Would this be a first?

The name Voluta musica is intriguing. Greek mousike, Latin musica,
originally referring to the Muses. Tubipora musica looks like a musical
instrument: Its common English name is "organ-pipe coral." What is musical
about this particular volute?
