If both were originally proposed in Nerita, then Karsten's species is a primary homonym of Nerita puntata Mueller and thus is permanently invalid.  Only secondary homonyms (e.g., if Karsten had described it under a different genus from Mueller, but later authors put them both in Nerita) can be revived by a change in classification.
