Andy and all,

What about the "sand flea" or "sand bug" crustacean that burrows quickly when it's uncovered?

Which mollusk species require specific conditions besides just sandy beaches? In other words, are there some species that can be found in just about any ocean-facing beach environment and others that require quieter waters, or more sediment, or some other factors?

David Kirsh
