Are you seeking a list for self-collecting?  If so, where?  If you want to buy
and checkoff as you go, then, as others have said, use Rice's catalog.  If you
are collecting along The USA east coast, the best all around guide for the
shells you are likely to find, and which can be used as a checklist is Tucker
Abbott's field guide.  It's about $13 and should be available at most book
stores.
