Elimia comalensis is possibly extinct, listed as "GH": "Historically found in Guadeloupe and Brazos rivers and Comal Creek and its spring (Burch and Tottenham 1980). C. Lydeard (pers. comm. 2000) is not aware of any recent status surveys searching for this particular species in Texas."

Although the adults I found at the river crossing were all dead (but not all weathered), the nearby presumed juveniles seemed to be alive.
