I guess it depends on what you mean by soon, Mike. Stephen Jay Gould's "punctuated equilibrium" would predict quicker adaptations than Darwin, from my understanding. But in any case, I'd guess that the future collectors would also look radically different, at the rate of change Earth seems to be undergoing currently. We might be able to hold more Spondylus comfortably in our furry appendages.
