Dear Maurizio:
My father, John Q. Burch, was especially interested in Olives and
donated a collection of Olividae to the Los Angeles County Museum of Natural
History. This was probably in the early 1960's. Ask Dr. Jim McLean or
Lindsey Groves at the Museum to show them to you.

My father was editor of the "Minutes of the Conchological Club of
Southern California" for many years and published a CATALOGUE OF RECENT AND
FOSSIL OLIVES with my mother as co-author. In addition, he discussed each
species in the minutes. There was a total of 300 pages(double sided) I
have had copies made of the 300 pages at the local "Island Instant Printers"
and have each set bound with plastic spiral binding. The cost is $35.00
each including postage. If you want a copy, send my $35 by check,
international money order, or cash and I'll send it to Jim McLean to hold
for you. If you want it sent to Italy, make it $40. If you want to wait
before deciding until you get to Los Angeles, that's ok too.

                        Aloha, Tom Burch
