Hi Brian
I beleive there is a photo of it in the Hawaiian Shell News, which can be
viewed on Poppe's site. However, I will check in some of the back Museum
magazines to see if there is a picture there I can scan. If not I'll take one
next time I'm there.

On the Syrinx aruanus

Don Pisor's World Record size 772 mm Syrinx aruanus As recorded by:
Wagner & Abbott, then by Don Pisor & Kim Hutsell, (& also recorded in
Hawaiian Shell News V 30:7, pg 11, JULY 1982), was procured a couple
years back for a very heft sum and is now in the collection of, and on
exhibit at:
The Houston Museum of Natural Science

Top 25 list of recent marine shelled molluscs

772 Syrinx aruanus

I cannot vouch for the accuracy of this because I cannot locate my 1990
Wagner & Abott list of record shells (may have discarded it). But my
database shows 914 mm for Syrinx aruanus. If not a typo, that number
probably came from that list.
Could someone double-check that?
