The September, 1989 issue of IHSN is now on line (25 August) with a new
articles and a new Auction that is open for bids from 15 to 22
September.

It is recommended that you enter the magazine on the opening page as it
is necessary to change the locations of individual sections almost every
month due to memory allocations on three individual home page areas.

I noted that the IHSN banner graphic is missing on the opening page, but
I may not have time to correct this.

The reason for going on line early is my departure for Cook Islands
tomorrow for another mollusc animal photo series. Incidently, Marine
Resources Department in Cook Islands was very helpful to me (via Email)
and a colaboration with the director of the Natural Heritage Project in
Cook Islands is set up to provide mollusc animal photos for his report.
He sent me an interim list of molluscs that have been noted as occuring
there. This will probably be in October or November IHSN.

This month, September Feature articles, Month articles and Auction are
on line in both HTML and Acrobat versions. Acrobat gives a more
accurate conversion of the original documents than does the conversion
to HTML by MS Publisher. Therefore, the use of the acrobat version is
recommended. It will take 3 or 4 minutes to download each section, but
it can then be printed off line with one print command, a Bookmark area
is available as an index, and graphics can be expanded (150 or 200% is
usually best).

At some point, the HTML versions of the Feature and Month articles
should be discontinued to conserve memory on the server. HTML will
continue to be used for the opening section and for the auction bid
summary. Will discontinuing the HTML versions be a problem to anyone?
