Subject: Singing Sand? Singing Beaches?

One of our fellow shell collectors (Ms. Rusti Stover)
who is also a Psamophile (sand collector)
sent me this to pass on to you all.

Some sands will actually "sing", or make noise.
In 1968 My wife and I visited Pensacola, FL where we found that the sand
squeaked as you made footsteps in it. It was also pure white.
