Emilio, yes. The species of Polyplacophora are called "cucaracha" in all
Cuba for the fishermen and comoun peoples, "cucarachas de mar" (sea
Cockroaches for english speakers).

Dr. Jose Espinosa is a very importan malacologist in Caribean Region, and
a nice people too, anyone may call him for cuestions on Cuban marine
shells. In that project he is workin with Dr. Jesus Ortea (spanish, from
Oviedo University), they are editors of AVICENNIA (journal of marine
biodiversity mostly). During the past 5 year they have discovered many new
species of marine mollusks from Cuba, Costa Rica and Africa, described in
AVICENNIA frecuently.
