Harry, I knew Major Robinson fairly well. Quite a few years after he
passed away his son contacted me and I went with him to a storage unit
that had Major Robinsons shells in it. There wasn't much to look at. So
I passed on buying them. Maybe a year later he was going around trying
to sell the shells. This was probably 20 years ago.

Subject: [CONCH-L] Major Robinson

Dear Listers,

I am interested in finding out a bit more about the late Major George D.
Robinson, who collected shells in St. Petersburg, FL during the middle
third of the last century.

It appears that he was the manager of a local radio station for a few
years, but I am unable to tap into any biographical resource for more
knowledge of his conchological activities.

Does someone from the St. Pete area remember him and/or know of another
resource?

Harry
