James and other interested people
This is a very very common ability of snails, with virtually all
freshwater snails I have ever seen being capable of this neat trick.
But not to be out done many of their marine cousins can do this as
well. Just put a bunch of live snails in a shallow dish and watch
what happens under a microscope.
