You have a point...about (Known) world records, but the operative word
here is...record. Until a size is verified and officially entered into
publication somewhere, it's still considered hear-say even though the
specimen may have been seen by a considerable number of people. It's a
fine line, I know, but that's why we thought it important to publish an
official, verifiable list.
 
If there is any question about commercial advertising on the list in
regard to the Registry, believe me, the publication could very nearly be
classified as 'non-profit'. Publishing anything, no matter how in demand,
can break the bank. Bob, I'm sure you can identify with this. You wrote
the Marginella book, not to make a ton of money, but because it needed to
be done...the same goes for the world record list.
 
The up side is, interest and participation in the Registry since the
first edition have been high and I've already been informed by many
collectors that they are anxiously awaiting the next issue.
