It all looks good on paper and I agree that the sea is reclaiming what it
once had. There seems to be no solution to the dilema.

The people in the tourist business would be hard pressed to ALL change the
only way they've known to make a living.

My local representatives aren't from the coast as we live inland. I know
one from the coast, but he's gettin' ready to "do" time after being caught
taking bribe money--probably from people who own motels, houses and
restaurants on top of the dunes.

We saw framed exhibits at Hunting Island showing how, over the years the
erosion had taken place. It said the sea is taking approx. 7 feet of beach
per year there. It's so sad to see.....broken concrete, downed Palmetto
trees it looks like a hurricane has hit it- and in a short while, even the
rest rooms will be gone--course, there'll be no need for rest rooms by
then.

I'm finding this subject very stimulating and hope to get enough responses
to write an article for our newsletter. Keep the comments and suggestions
coming.
