Coch-l'ers,
 
At the risk of seeming ungrateful to Bobbi, let me tell you that there are
countless professionals in this game who can have more knowledge - and, more
importantly, have imparted it more extensively and permanently than I.
 
As far as being willing to help anyone, I usually pick my taxonomic fights;
I actually benefit from identifying other people's (American) shells.
 
As far as contemporary "best sheller," I would have to cast my ballot for
Gene Everson for the geographic extent of his marine shelling, his
curatorial effort, and his artistry and finesse in exhibiting his specimens.
