Seeing all these postings about strange place names prompted me to compile a
list of the molluscan fauna of Hell.

Subulina octona (Bruguiere, 1789)
Lamellaxis micra (d'Orbigny, 1835)
Opeas hannense (Rang, 1831)
Varicella pinchoti Pilsbry, 1930
Brachypodella caymanensis Pilsbry, 1930
Spiraxis caymanensis Pilsbry, 1930
Stauroglypta caymanensis (Pilsbry, 1930

Lucidella caymanensis Pilsbry, 1930
Poteria fonticulus (Preston, 1911)
Tudora rosenbergiana (Preston, 1911)
Nodilittorina dilatata (d'Orbigny, 1841) (subfossil)
Geomelania cf. G. alemon Pilsbry, 1930

Hell is a little town in northwest Grand Cayman Island, so named because of
the extremely jagged rocks there. I collected there in April 1997. As far as
I know, I'm not related to the Rosenberg for whom Tudora rosenbergiana was
named.
