John,
I think our discussion of cataloging shells on a computer database
is very much related to shells...One of the most important things
about our hobby is the accurate cataloging of data on the shells.
Most of our collections, especially the large ones, would be nothing
but jumbled messes without a system for cataloging, recording, and
sorting records. How could I possibly know at a glance what species
of Cypraea or Conus I have and how many of each if I did not have
them somehow catalogued in this manner. This discussion with other
collectors is invalualble!
Thanks,
Peter
(p.s...Talk about pigs as much as you want...just label the listings as
such so that those not interested don't need to open them).
