Although Pinna Nobilis and Lithophaga Lithophaga seem to be protected species in
Yogoslavia, they are not mentioned in the European Union Directive on the
protection of wildlife (BUDEP). For the import of species mentioned in this
Directive, import is in one way of another restricted. All other species can be
brought in the European Union. As the aforementioned species are not mentioned,
they can be imported. The legislation in the different countries does not seem
to be in line with each other.
