Cline?  cut........

Hello!

Hi Lynn,

The cribraria melwardi do not have a "geographical vs color" cline as far as I
know. What I referred to was a color cline with no variable (bad use, huh?). They
are mixed within their locality; full color, semi spotted, whites and pinks, as far
as I know. I suppose the word "cline" has to be further clarified when one (or
Emilio Jorge) uses it. One definition that I have is;
"Continuous gradation of phenotype or genotype in a species population, USUALLY
(but I suppose not always) correlated with some ecological variable." Oh well we
cant all be perfect.

I wonder if our Australian subscribers could share some info on the melwardi
without compromising any of the Diver/Collector's secret patches.
