Anyone looking for "pristine" coastal areas really ought to come up to
Canada some time! Although we are not by any means any better stewards,
there are a lot fewer of us to mess things up, so a fair bit has so far
escaped relatively unaltered. Of course don't come looking for great
shelling unless you like periwinkles, lots of bivalves, and other
"northern" fare (on this side, ie - the other coast has about 6 times as
many spp for some reason!!) (and in Canada, ALL intertidal areas are
**striclty** public property - NO exeptions except for the military.)
Cheers,
Ross M.
