The Mostra Malacologica Committee of Cupra Marittima has decided
unanimously to give Dr. Patrice Bail, famous French Malacologist, the prize
"A life for Malacologia 1999"; the prize will be given to him on Saturday
the 5th of June at 6.30 p.m. in Cupra Marittima during an official
ceremony.
 
Dr. Emilio Rolan will attend the ceremony to take the prize "A life for
Malacologia" that the Committee granted to him for 1998.
 
I want to remember you the names of the other people who got the prize for
the latest editions: Roëchel, Bouchet, Van Aartsen, Nicolay, Angeletti,
Settepassi, Parenzan, Douté, Bombace, Baer, Ghisotti.
 
A lot of Italian Malacologists will attend the ceremony in Cupra where one
of the most important European Malacological Museums is seated.
 
 
In Cupra Marittima the same day the first part Harpidae, as part of the
Iconography appeared in Aarschot by Guido Poppe, will be presented.
It is the first book completely made with digital images and it is
available at the Malacological Library.
The new EUROPEAN MALACOLOGICAL INDEX 1999-2000 will be shown for the first
time.
