Dear all,
I need help from a expert on Fissurellidae.
I have a very small fissurella from Pensacola Beach,
Florida. It is about 1cm from base to top, quite high(probably
because of calm waters) and is reddish brown in color. There is fine
cross-hatch sculpture all over the shell. The interior is faintly
nacreous.
I have found no reference to this species in any book. Oh, and one more
thing,
the shell is higher on the front than on the back. If you would prefer, I
can send it
snail-mail for precise identification.

Thanks,
James
