The grass may be trying to escape predation by fungi, slime molds,
nematodes, wireworms, grubs, beetles, mites, millipedes, slugs, snails,
moles, gophers,  other lawn-dwelling organisms.  Or - it might simply be
trying to escape your music. :-)
