When I was living in Singapore (4 years ago) and I planned to visit
Mauritius, I was told that there is a complete shelling ban in Mauritius.
Recently a friend of mine went there and came back with shells which he
collected on the beach. He was not asked a single question, and he had not
hidden his shells to take them out
