First off let me apologize.  I didn't think ahead.  In the future I'll post
my email address and ask all respondents wishing only to answer the riddle,
and not include comments on the discussion issue, to answer directly to me
and not via Conch-L.  This will properly avoid the inappropriate clutter
and leave the riddle for others to ponder for a few days.  I'll publish the
answer and credit the first correct responded in a few days.
 
I published the riddle at 1:05 PM.  The first correct reply was from
ferreter at 12:56 PM.  Now how's that for a fast answer.   Eskimos live in
the Arctic and Penguins are only found in the Antarctic.
