Thanks Kev and Karen (and Lynn!) - i feel mellower already!
My question is just how safe is diving anyway - i have heard that if one
obeys all the rules, it is safer than a walk in Central Park after dark,
but does anyone have some actual stats - cases of the "bends" per
thousand dives, or something of that sort?  Also, what is the minimum
depth that nitrogen narcosis (is that the same as bends, or is it
worse?) can occur when surfacing too quickly from?
