Dear all,
Most crop models require soil texture to determine thermal conductivity and hence the temperature in all parts of the soil profile ( Acock and Acock, 1991page 60). Is there a formula representing a relationship between soil texture and thermal conductivity? Other factors like vegetative cover, soil water content do have an effect on thermal conductivity.
Could someone explain how the models in DSSAT like CERES , CROPGRO etc take other factors into account?
Thank you for your time.
