One of our patrons, who does not have internet access, wishes to identify the
following locality, given in a petition for naturalization dated 1903:
Develiki, county of Mariampol, government of Suwalki, Russia
The spelling is almost certainly phonetic. An extensive search of Russian,
Polish, and Lithuanian maps at UC Irvine was unsuccessful.
I would be most grateful for any help--from positive identification to wild,
off-the-top-of-the-head suggestion--you may be able to give me.
Thanks
