Dear DSSAT users :

I apologize for two earlier messages that were not supposed to have been
distributed across the DSSAT net.

I guess that the news is out ... We are working on trying to finish an
upgrade of DSSAT that will be released as DSSAT v3.1. In our last workshop
held in Athens this version was tested very thoroughly by 30 participants.
DSSAT v3.1 will include a few new crop models for sunflower, sugarcane,
sunflower, and pasture, as well as two new programs for spatial applications
of the models. In addition minor bugs in most of the individual components
were fixed.

Paul Wilkens and I spent one week at the IBSNAT headquarters, University of
Hawaii, to try to finish DSSAT v3.1. There are still some minor items we
need to fix.

We will inform you about the official release date and how we will handle
upgrades from v3.0 to v3.1.

Again, I am sorry for cluttering your mailbox with these earlier two messages,

Gerrit Hoogenboom
