UGA Trial Gardens Open House

Athens, GA - July 11, 2009

On July 11, bring your sun hat and your comfortable shoes and be
prepared to be wowed. The summer annuals are spectacular in July at
the UGA Trial Gardens located behind Snelling Dining Hall and next to
the Pharmacy building on the University of Georgia Athens campus. Join
us in the garden July 11th, 2009 from 8 a.m. to noon for a spectacular
look at the trials including the newest of the new and the "best of
the best."

The Gardens trials the newest varieties of annuals from all over the
world and puts perennials to the test to find those that stand up to
southeastern heat and humidity. The Gardens at UGA is open all year
and is a great source of ideas and information for students,
gardeners, and industry professionals.

A $5 donation collected at the entrance helps support area Master
Gardener projects.

*Tours and book signing by Dr. Allan Armitage
     *Plant Sale
*Pi Alpha Xi (Horticulture Honor Society) will be selling rain barrels

Make it a great garden day! While you're in the Athens area you can
also visit the State Botanical Garden on South Milledge Avenue, the
Latin American Ethnobotanical Garden corner of Baldwin Street and East
Campus Road, and take the self-guided Walking Tour of UGA Athens
Arboretum-North Central & South Campus. Check out these websites for
