> As we prepare for the Sunbelt Ag Expo’s Annual Field Day in July, we invite all of you to be with us – bring your students for a morning in the field to learn about the latest technology straight from the field reps with UGA extension and many of the top seed and chemical company’s. This is a free event and includes breakfast and lunch. All of the fun kicks off at 7:45 am with trams departing for the fields at 8:30 am.

> In the meantime, to earn a bit of extra cash for your chapter, PhytoGen cottonseed is coordinating a Blue Jeans Go Green™ denim recycling drive for FFA chapters in Georgia. The FFA chapter that drops off the most pieces of denim at their booth at Field Day on July 25, 2019 wins $1,500!

> If your chapter is interested in participating, contact Amanda Powell via email at [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> or (770)356-1480. She will provide a recycling box and an FTP link with all the materials needed to conduct a denim drive. I’ve attached the news release and more information about the recycling program that the Cotton Board put out in January. In addition, Amanda will send you a link to the Cotton Inc. video (educational material for kicking off the program), as well as pdfs for printable promotional posters, etc. Any denim item, such as blue jeans, jackets, shirts, and skirts are eligible for donation, as long as they are at least 90% denim. Colored denim is also accepted.

> We look forward to having you with us at Field Day if it works into your summer schedule with your students. It’s a great half-day to get the year kicked off before they head back to school. Please let me know if you have any questions about the recycling drive or Field Day.
